Shark cartilage powder is a complex of chondroitin sulphate and protein made from shark cartilage, with a relative molecular weight of 20,000 to 40,000. It is an acidic mucopolysaccharide and protein combined with glycoprotein composed of chondroitin sulphate, glucuronic acid, galactose, xylose and serine. Dextrin is often added to the product to make a powder. The main structure of chondroitin sulphate also has A, B, C, D, E, F and so on, of which A, B, C three kinds of main, of which chondroitin sulphate B is also known as dermatosulphate. In shark cartilage, type D is predominant [1].
