Product Description

Gallnut, Rhus chinensis Mill for the sumac family plant. Var. sinica(Diels) Rehd. Et Wils. Galls on leaves produced chiefly by the parasitic insect aphid Melaphis chinensis(Bell)Baker. Distributed in Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Shaanxi.

It is a gall on the leaves of Rhus chinensis Mill, Rhus potaninii Maxim, or Rhus punjabensis Stew. var. snica (Diels) Rehd. et Wils. plants in the family Anacardiaceae, mainly formed by parasitism of the gally aphid Melaphis chinensis (Bell) Baker. Distributed in Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Shaanxi, Guangxi and other places. It has the effects of tonifying the lungs, reducing internal heat, astringent intestines, stopping diarrhea, reducing sweating, stopping bleeding, and relieving dampness and sores. Commonly used for chronic cough caused by lung deficiency, phlegm cough caused by lung heat, prolonged diarrhea and dysentery, spontaneous sweating and night sweats, thirst quenching, rectal bleeding and hemorrhoids, bleeding from external injuries, abscesses, sores and toxins, and wet and rotten skin.
