Ginkgo biloba extract (EGB) is a complex mixture of active ingredients extracted from dried mature ginkgo biloba leaves. There are more than 170 medicinal components, including: flavonoids, terpene lactones, organic acids, amino acids, sugars, alcohols, trace elements and vitamins, chlorophyll, alkaloids and so on. Among them, the main pharmacological effects are flavonoids and terpene lactones, organic acids have a protective effect on the central system, and its pharmacological effects are mainly manifested as: scavenging free radicals, antioxidant, antiplatelet activating factor, inhibition of apoptosis, and ease of synaptic transmission, accelerated nerve conduction of these four aspects.
